We are delighted to announce that this year Art Works for Business is working with John Lewis High Wycombe on a series of events to showcase Buckinghamshire artists. Customers are invited to enjoy the experience of meeting local artists whose work spans a wide range of techniques from traditional painting through textiles, jewellery, ceramics and glass and even experimental mixed media and sculpture.
Picking up on one of the key ideas from their sister shop Waitrose, the store is sourcing local and seasonal artworks in an entirely new venture for John Lewis. In a series of four two-day events based on the four seasons, local artists will exhibit their work in-store, demonstrating and talking with customers on the shop floor throughout the day. Artists will not be restricted to the gallery zone in the shop: rather they will be positioned throughout the store, taking customers on a journey to encourage the idea of buying unique artworks from locally practicing artists. Events will be held at the High Wycombe store on 27/28 March, 29/30 May, 25/26 September and 20/21 November.
